Mas Doix Salanques Priorat 2019

Mas Doix's Salanques is Priorat at full voice: 65% Grenache and 25% Carignan off old vines (some Carignan pushing 80–110 years) with 10% Syrah, farmed organically on the region's signature llicorella slate at 350–450 meters. Fermented and aged 14 months in French oak, it's deep and sensual — blackcurrant, dark cherry, and plum layered with tobacco, clove, licorice, and a smoky mineral edge, rich and concentrated but carried with real elegance and a long finish. From one of Priorat's benchmark estates, built on pre-phylloxera farming roots and made to age. Serious old-vine slate-grown Grenache that overdelivers for the price.
