Grosgrain's Skin-Contact Sémillon is 100% Sémillon from Les Collines Vineyard in Walla Walla, from a small grower run by Matt and Kelly Austin — a former attorney and fashion designer who traded California careers to champion underdog grapes on organically farmed sites. For the 2023, roughly 60% of the fruit ferments on its skins for two weeks for texture and grip, while the rest is pressed straight to keep the freshness taut, then aged eleven months in concrete egg. The result is viscous and layered — lemon pith, golden apple, dried pineapple, beeswax, and hay — with just enough acid and gentle tannin to stay lively.
