Grosgrain Lemberger Blanc de Noirs 2024

Grosgrain's Lemberger Blanc de Noir is a sparkling white pressed from red Lemberger grapes off Kiona Vineyard on Red Mountain — vines among the original 1976 plantings, from a cooler, later-ripening pocket of the site that holds onto acidity. Lemberger was once floated as Washington's signature grape and has nearly vanished (only around 40 acres remain statewide), which makes this a genuine rarity. From Matt and Kelly Austin's organically minded, underdog-championing project, it pours a pale brassy gold with lively bubbles and aromas of strawberry, peach, and melon over a firm mineral spine.
