Evesham Wood's Willamette Valley Pinot is the value benchmark of Oregon Pinot — an Eola-Amity Hills estate founded in 1986, certified organic, and run since 2011 by Tom and Erin Hewitt with the same small-lot, hands-on approach they give their top cuvées. The bottling is an assemblage from long-tenured sites like Illahe and Mahonia plus Eola-Amity vineyards, fermented in small open-top lots, punched down by hand, and aged a full year in French oak. Bright and lifted: red cherry, wild strawberry, and cranberry over fresh flowers, savory herb, and a saline mineral cut, medium-bodied with juicy acid and silky tannins.
Decanter called it the best value in American Pinot Noir (93 pts) — no other Pinot delivers this much for the money, year after year.
