About the Wine: On the nose, the sweetness of cherry and vanilla is balanced by the gentle bitterness of orange zest and herbs. On the palate, a rush of chocolate invigorates the fruit element, but balance is maintained by an earthiness that's drawn out by chalky, clingy tannins.
About the Producer: Tenuta di Lilliano sits in the Castellina hills of Chianti Classico and has been in the Ruspoli family since the 1950s, when Princess Elena Ruspoli Berlingieri began producing Chianti Classico here. Today it is run by brothers Giulio and Pietro Ruspoli, farming organically grown grapes. The label bears both families' coats of arms.
