Blažič Jakot 2023

The Blažič family has cultivated the same land in Brda since 1890, situated along the Slovenian-Italian border. Their passports have changed nationality four times, yet the farm has remained constant. Borut and Simona tend to old vines rooted in mineral-rich flysch soil in Medana. The name "Jakot" is a reversal of "Tokaj," reflecting local humor after the EU designated the original as Hungarian. Their wine is made from 100% Sauvignonasse, with a few days on skins, wild fermentation, and aging in steel tanks. It features notes of citrus peel, white fruits, field flowers, and a crisp, stony freshness. The vineyard is certified organic.
