The Wine: Grochau Cellars (GC) Wines’ Etheric Wine Workshop Pinot Noir is a beautifully expressive Willamette Valley Pinot that brings together purity of fruit, freshness, and a quietly natural sensibility. Drawn from two sustainably farmed vineyards in the Eola-Amity Hills (Witness Tree and LIVE-certified Zenith) this 2021 opens with lifted red fruit, gentle floral notes, and subtle earth, then moves across the palate with energy, softness, and precision. It is a Pinot Noir that feels vibrant and finely tuned rather than heavy, offering both immediate charm and real composure.
What makes the Etheric line especially compelling is the way low-intervention winemaking is handled with care and restraint. The wine is 100% Pinot Noir, fermented with a pied de cuve, raised mostly in concrete with a smaller portion in neutral French oak, and bottled with no added sulfur, preserving its freshness and transparency without sacrificing clarity. That combination gives the wine a supple texture and a clean, lively finish that feels both contemporary and deeply drinkable.
