Timothy Malone's Rosato is a rosé of Nebbiolo from the Columbia Gorge — a rare grape for the Northwest, but northern Oregon's climate mirrors Piedmont, and it shows. Malone is a Berklee-trained bassist turned winemaker who came up through Cameron and Erni Loosen's J. Christopher, where he's now head winemaker, producing his own small namesake label alongside it. His style is deliberately un-flashy: native ferments, neutral oak, low sulfur, wines built on acid and honesty rather than show. This one pours nearly white, just a whisper of pink, then opens into strawberry, peach, and cherry blossom over fresh cranberry and a granitic mineral snap. Dry, bright, and low-fuss.
