A four-generation, independent family estate in the cooler, sandy northern corner of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, now led by Anne-Charlotte Mélia-Bachas — the latest Mélia to farm the ground her family has held since 1942. Sand defines it: old vines on sandy soils yield a Châteauneuf of perfume and lift, not power. Grenache-led, with Syrah and Mourvèdre. Dark cherry, olive, candied orange, violet, a saline edge. HVE 3, farming organically since 2021. Elegant, fresh, unforced.
